Do you order righteousness of the people and forget yourselves while you recite the Scripture? Then will you not reason?

O People of the Scripture, why do you argue about Abraham while the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed until after him? Then will you not reason?

O you who have believed, do not take as intimates those other ... than yourselves, for they will not spare you [any] ruin. They wish ... have certainly made clear to you the signs, if you will use reason.

... they attain puberty; then if you find in them maturity of ... to them their property, and do not consume it extravagantly and hastily ... poor, let him eat reasonably; then when you make over to them ...

And when you call to prayer, they take it in ridicule and amusement. That is because they are a people who do not use reason.

O my people, I do not ask you for it any reward. My reward is only from the one who created me. Then will you not reason?

They said: O our father! what reason have you that you do not trust in us with respect to Yusuf? And most surely we are his sincere well-wishers:

And they swear by Allah with the most energetic of their oaths that if you command them they would certainly go forth. Say: Swear not; reasonable obedience (is desired); surely Allah is aware of what you do.

Or (why is not) a treasure sent down to him, or he is made to have a garden from which he should eat? And the unjust say: You do not follow any but a man deprived of reason.

Or do you think that most of them hear or reason? They are not except like livestock. Rather, they are [even] more astray in [their] way.

And if you asked them, "Who sends down rain from the sky and gives life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness?" they would surely say " Allah ." Say, "Praise to Allah "; but most of them do not reason.

Indeed, those who call you, [O Muhammad], from behind the chambers - most of them do not use reason.

And what reason have you that you should not spend in Allah's way? ... heavens and the earth, not alike among you are those who spent ... fought (and those who did not): they are more exalted in ... Allah is Aware of what you do.

They will not fight you all except within fortified cities ... violence among themselves is severe. You think they are together, but ... they are a people who do not reason.
